Bytemark

As Co-Founder and Chief Technologist of Bytemark, I played a pivotal role in developing and scaling mobile ticketing solutions for public transit systems across North America and Europe. I led the design and implementation of Bytemark's core platform, facilitating seamless integration with transit agencies and enabling millions of riders to access services via smartphones. My technical leadership was instrumental in establishing Bytemark as a trusted partner for transit operators seeking to modernize fare collection and enhance the rider experience.

In addition to my engineering and leadership contributions, I contributed to industry standards for account-based mobile ticketing, and co-authored several patents that advanced the field of electronic ticketing. Notably, I contributed to the development of a method and system for distributing electronic tickets with a visual display, which was granted as U.S. Patent No. 8,494,967. This innovation allowed for the verification of tickets using dynamic visual elements, improving the efficiency and security of fare validation processes.

As a result of my technical direction and vision, Bytemark ultimately secured a $9.5 million funding round in 2016, enabling the company to expand its team and meet the growing demand for its services. Bytemark's solutions have since been adopted by numerous transit agencies, processing over $30 million in ticketing revenue annually. In 2023, Bytemark was acquired by Siemens Mobility, marking a significant milestone in the company's journey and further solidifying its position in the transit technology sector.
